Surgeon's tourniquet

A relic of Sir John Franklin's last expedition 1845-1848. A Petit Type Surgeon's tourniquet, the strap is missing. It was found at Crozier's camp near Ross Cairn, Point Victory, King William Island on 11 July 1879 by the Schwatka Search Expedition 1878-1879. This site was also visited by McClintock's expedition in 1859 and was the point where the crews of 'Erebus' and 'Terror' landed after abandoning their ships. Schwatka visited it twice, the second time on the 11 July 1879 when the snow had melted.

We print everything to order so delivery times may vary but all framed pictures are despatched within 5-7 days via courier or recorded mail.

Due to the coronovirus pandemic and Brexit situation, current shipping times may be longer, particularly for destinations outside the UK.
