Tea kettle
Silver tea kettle presented by the Merchants of Kingston, Jamaica, to Vice-Admiral Sir John Thomas Duckworth (1748-1817). The gift was made at the end of Duckworth's term as Commander-in-Chief at Jamaica, the principal British West Indian naval station, in recognition of his contribution to the security of the island's trade. Jamaica's wealth derived from the production of sugar, and its merchants relied heavily on the Navy
