Terrestrial globe gores. Geographical details on the gores include scales below the inscription, for statute miles, kilometres and nautical miles. Routes are represented with symbols for the principal shipping routes, for the principal railways, for other railways and for the principle airports. The south magnetic pole is indicated by a cross.
