Terrestrial table globe
Geographical details on the sphere show the interior of North America as mostly empty. California is drawn as a peninsula, and Australia and New Zealand are drawn according to the Dutch discoveries. There are two notes on Tasman's voyages and six on discoveries; one of these is illegible. The tracks of ten voyages are shown, including, for example, 'Route de Magellan l'an 1520', 'Route de Gaetan de I'an 1542' and 'Route du 2e voyage de Mendana aven Gallego en 1568 and avec Quir en 1595?'. A total of five oceans are named.
The design of the stand is the same as that of the terrestrial globe of Hardy, GLB0147. Clearly the mounting of this and the present globe were made in the same workshop.
