The Battle of Navarino, 20 October 1827
An interpretation of a naval battle during the War of Greek Independence, 1821-1832. It took place when French, Russian, and British ships destroyed a Turkish or Ottoman-Egyptian fleet in the bay of Navarino - now known (both bay and town) as Pylos - on the west coast of the Greek Peloponnese.
