The Dutch fleet at anchor near the coast. The drawings belong to a group identified by their subjects and watermarks as dating from when van de Velde was with the Dutch fleet assembled near Goeree in South Holland in Autumn 1664. The most important in the series are in the Boymans-van Beuningen Museum, Rotterdam. In the centre foreground a States yacht is shown firing a salute, and there is another on the left. In the left middle-distance the rear-admiral of the centre squadron is shown at anchor, also saluting. On the right there is a bow view of a private ship and beyond her the vice
