Inscribed: "The loss of H. M. Steam Frigate Avenger, Captain Charles Napier, off the Coast of Barbary on the night of Decr 20th 1847, when all perished but four. This Print of the melancholy event is dedicated to Lieut. Rook, and the Survivors and Relatives of the ill-fated cre".
