Third rate warship 'Centurion' (1732) 60 guns
Scale: 1:48. A block model of the third rate 60-gun ship 'Centurion' (1732) made entirely in wood and painted in a tromp l'oeil effect. The model has been carved from the solid. Painted fittings and details include stylised framing in the Navy Board model-making genre, gunports lids are depicted either open or partly open, channels for all three masts with their deadeyes, a lion figurehead, solid wales, bulwark and stern gallery decoration and stern and quarter gallery balusters. The model is mounted on a pair of short turned wooden supports and displayed on a rectangular wooden baseboard.
