Three sketches of a woman's face
These sketches were done by Louisa Herschel when she was 12 or 13 years old. They would have probably been made from a plaster model of a statue or a painting owned by her drawing tutor. Paintings, plaster casts of statues and parts of statues would have been the standard tools of such a tutor.
