This engraving represents the 'Royal George' Yacht conveying her Majesty and Royal Consort to Edinburgh, August, 1842 Off the Bass Rock... joined by General Steam Navigation... Ships 'Trident' and 'Monarch' '. They are shown off the Bass Rock with Tantallon Castle on the left. 'Trident' and 'Monarch' were 1000-ton vessels. The ships are identified by inscriptions under the image from left to right as the 'Trinity Yacht' (Trinity House), 'Monarch', 'Royal George', 'Shearwater', 'Black Eagle' and 'Trident'.
