Tumbler, circa 1783
A tumbler engraved with a ship wearing a British ensign and pennant with the inscription 'SUCCESS TO THE BERRINGTON'. On the other side a bowl of punch and two glasses placed under a tree. Two sailors are shown, one holding a pipe, a glass in his other hand and dancing. The other holds a sick and a glass and points to the ship. English lead glass, blown with Dutch wheel engraving. The tumbler has a fluted base and the pontil mark has been removed.
