Universal equinoctial ring dial
Universal equinoctial ring dial for all latitudes. This instrument has two features that are not common on French equinoctial ring dials. First, the suspension piece is attached to a whole ring, which moves in the rim of the meridian ring (a typical aspect of German instruments). Second, it has an altitude quadrant on the reverse side, which is almost exclusively found on English dials of this type. It is signed 'Delure AParis' on the obverse side of the meridian ring. The Delure responsible for this instrument was probably Jean Baptiste Nicolas Delure.
