Universal equinoctial scaphe dial
Universal equinoctial scaphe dial for all latitudes. This is an unusually elaborate equinoctial dial, clearly made for a very wealthy customer. The combination of equinoctial dial and scaphe dial is relatively uncommon but also appears on AST0213. The use of the Italian wind names and the inclusion of a rotating ring for converting common hours into Italian or Babylonian hours suggest that this dial was made for an Italian patron, but the origin of the dial itself is unclear.
