View of Greenwich from Deptford Yard
From Boydell's 'History of the Thames' series, 1794-1796, vol II, no., 64, p. 242. A view west from the riverfront of the Royal Dockyard, Deptford, towards Greenwich Hospital. This is framed as follows: on the left, by a frigate seen in starboard-broadside view as far aft as her quarter-deck, with a sailed lighter alongside and two small vessels moored-up in ordinary ahead, with only their lower masts standing; on the right, by another group of single decked naval vessels (sloops and possibly a frigate behind) also moored in ordinary. Other small working boats with men in them are included between.
