View of Greenwich Hospital from the river (reverse)
An atmospheric watercolour sketch westward down Greenwich Reach, apparently from the marshy Greenwich Peninsula to the east.
The same scene, loosely sketched in pencil, with rather more vessels and colour notes appears on the reverse. J. W. Carmichael, who had a similar MS hand and made similar colour notes on some of his drawings might be a possible candidate as artist, although the style is unusually loose for him.
