Scale: Unknown. A sectional model of the upper portion of the bow showing an improved buckler for securing the anchor chain and making the hawse pipe water tight when the anchor was fished and stow along side the hull. The model is made entirely of wood and shows the starboard side, the outboard of which are finished entirely in black with the inboard finished a creamy white colour. The whole model is mounted on a rectangular wooden base.
Inboard are fitted a pair of horizontal knees that support a shuttering system with a plug for the forward hawse pipe, and a metal eye with rigging to work the after hawse pipe with the buckler.
There is a paper covered metal plaque on which is printed "Model of an improved buckler by Capt. J. Pole R.N." on the outboard hull. In addition to this there are two paper labels on the outboard, one hand written in ink with the number "24" and the other written in pencil "33", and on the inboard face of the stem is another paper label hand written in ink with the number "104".
