Watch
Pocket watch in silver pair case (composite). The potence plate is engraved with the words 'J Trabet' and 'London'. On the dial is a centrally painted scene depicting two Dutch ships and a further ship which is on fire. The outer case is hallmarked 'London 1807-1808' with makers cameo stamp 'T.C' over 'R.C' (Thomas and Richard Carpenter, 5, Islington Road). Engraved on back are the words 'H.N. from C.C. 1800'. The watch is reputed to have been presented to Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805) by Vice-Admiral Cuthbert Collingwood (1750-1810), although this attribution is said to be dubious.
