The watch comes complete with a silver watch fob in the form of crossed branches surmounted by a scroll. Engraved on obverse are the words 'For Bravery on S.S. Marino at Sea Oct.10 1896'. Engraved on reverse is the name 'Horace Comer'. The watch is contained within a dark purple, leather covered rectangular presentation case with domed lid. The case is lined with purple velvet and satin. There is a watch retainer inside the base of the case. Printed inside the case lid in gold are the words 'MACKAY & CHISHOLM GOLDSMITHS 56 & 57.
