Watch
Pocket watch in 18ct gold case. Thirty hour duration, single train, gilt brass, four pillar capped fusee movement with table roller, ratchet tooth, lever escapement and maintaining power. Plain balance cock with diamond endstone in blued-steel setting. The watch is said to have belonged to Admiral Adam Duncan (1731-1804). This is incorrect as the watch is hallmarked 1825-1826. The maker John Cross joined the livery of the Clockmakers' Company in 1834.John Cross
