Webley Mark III revolver

Hatched plaques of composite materials are applied to either side of the butt. The tip of the butt is fitted with a ring. The frame is solid with the barrel and is nickel plated. Fitted with a six chambered cylinder. Double action.The barrel is rifled and fitted with a blade foresight and a fixed V-notch rearsight. The calibre is .455/476in. Stamped on the revolver is the serial number '9513' and 'HOOTON ; JONES/60 DALE STREET/LIVERPOOL' (retailer). The first Webley revolver was adopted by both the Army and the Navy in 1887 - subsequently Marks I-VI were put into service, the Mark III in 1897.Webley & Scott Revolver & Small Arms Co.
