A View of a Castle or Château Beside Water
The location of this scene is not known, although the bright sunlight and blue water suggest a warm climate. The view is down a steep hill or cliff to a stone or granite castle or château with a turret. This stands above either sea or a lake and a road winds down towards it on the left. The date of the watercolour is possibly around 1900, and the bright colouring is the kind that Wyllie used in watercolours that were subsequently to be reproduced.
