A warship cruiser the 'Niitaka' (Japan, 1902)

Scale: 1:48. A model of a Japanese cruiser made entirely in wood, painted in realistic colours, with plated metal fittings. The hull below the waterline is painted brick red and dark grey above. The hull details include two anchors, chrysanthemum emblems on the port and starboard bows, two side mounted guns, two three-bladed propellers, scaling ladders, life rings, and bilge keels. The superstructure, funnels, and ship's boats are all painted dark grey and the decks are unpainted wood and scored to resemble planking. Foredeck fittings include a single gun, a Japanese flag, a standalone bridge and ventilators with blue painted inserts. Bridge equipment include two signaling lamps, a binnacle, a chart table and a signaling telegraph. The foremast has two yards and a crow's nest. The three funnels are in line and slightly raked. The eight ship's boats are stowed on chocks and rigged to davits. The mainmast has two yards, two gaff yards, and a lightning conductor. The model is mounted on four pillar supports attached to cradles and displayed in its original black lacquered display case with matching table.
