An English three-decker at anchor

This is a very faint drawing. It depicts a late 17th century three-decker perceived from very close on her starboard quarter. All the ship's sails are furled with the exception of the mizzen topsail, which is taken back. On the fore yard, several men are visible, furling the sail.

It has been doubtfully attributed to van de Velde the Elder. It has been approximately dated by the subject.
