Anchor model
Scale: Unknown. A model of a Taylor's patent anchor, sanctioned in 1892, made entirely in metal and possibly plated in nickel. The surface or plating is heavily oxidised to a dull patina. The shank is rectangular in section with rounded short sides. Along the lengths of both short sides is twice inscribed: 'Taylors patent'. The top of the shank is rounded and attached to it is a D-ring shackle that swivels on a round-headed rivet. The crown is flat and six-sided and there is a rectangular aperture in the bottom through which the bottom of the shank can be seen. Either side of the aperture are two metal plates secured to the crown by flush rivets. On both vertical sides of the crown is inscribed: 'Wrought'. The arms extend outward from the crown and sweep vertically terminating in a pair of large prominent flukes.
