Anchor model
Scale: Unknown. Model of a Porter's patent anchor (circa 1846). The model is made entirely in brass or bronze. The plating is tarnished and worn in places. The shank is rectangular in section through which is a single piece crescent-shaped arm which pivots on a large fidded bolt, held in place by a pin and chain. The upward facing palms are flat and teardrop-shaped and include a small barb on the underside of the arm at its widest point. The stock is circular in section, tapering towards its ends, finishing with a flat button shape at one end and a flat button shape at the other which is bent 90 degrees parallel to the shank It was originally fidded (now missing), allowing it to be un-shipped and stowed flat aboard ship. At the top of the shank is a swivelling bow shackle held in place by a pin. The inscription "Porters & Co Patent" has been stamped on the arms whilst just behind the crown is stamped "No 21". Inscribed on the shank in white ink is the RUSI catalogue number "1894".

Delivery to the UK is £10 for a single framed print.
