Augsburg dial for latitudes 10-90 north. It has a square dial-plate. The compass has a central four-pointed star and the magnetic variation is indicated at 21 west of north. Around the compass is an engraved circle decorated with leaves and the remainder of the dial-plate consists of open-work leaf motifs. The latitude arc is divided 10-9 and the hour ring is cusped. Hinged to the south side of the dial-plate, the plumb-bob support is elaborately shaped, engraved with foliate decoration and pierced to accommodate the plumb bob. The brace for the plumb-bob support on the underside is shaped and decorated with a leaf motif.
