Brig fighting vessel, 14 guns

Scale: 1:48. A full hull model of a brig (circa 1830) made entirely in wood with metal and organic material fittings and painted and varnished in realistic finishes. The vessel is depicted fully rigged and set with its original sails that have been stitched and sewn together from individual pieces of off-white coloured material. The hull is built plank-on-frame and is unpainted apart from the wales and the top strakes which are painted black. Fittings include two jib sails set on the bowsprit, three square sails set on both masts and a spanker, two anchors with collapsible iron stocks stowed from cables at the port and starboard bows, forecastle, gundeck with guns on service carriages and with some port lids open and white ensign flying form the peak of the gaff. The model is mounted on a pair of wooden crutches and displayed on a rectangular wooden baseboard with rounded corners and large dar wood bun feet.
