Cartouche below Hydra
Celestial table globe. It forms a pair with the terrestrial globe, Delamarche GLB0116. Astronomical details on the sphere show a labelled magnitude table to the left of Lepus. The stars are marked by their Bayer notation. The Milky Way and the Magellanic Clouds are labelled, and there is a label for a nova in Cassiopeia and the variable star in Cetus. A total of 20 stars and three star groups are named. The 48 Ptolemaic constellations and four of the non-Ptolemaic constellations are drawn. Eight southern constellations are drawn, as well as those of Plancius, Hevelius and Lacaille.
