An earthenware jug with pink lustre decoration. On the side is a hand-coloured transfer engraving of Wearmouth Bridge inscribed 'A WEST VIEW of the CAST IRON BRIDGE over the RIVER WEAR built by R BURDON ESQR', 'Span 236 Feet Begun 24 Sept. 1793 Opend. 9 Augt. 1796.' On the other side, a cartouche inscribed 'CRIMEA' with French and Union Flag and lion and eagle supporters. On a ribbon above 'MAY THEY EVER BE UNITED' on another ribbon below 'VIVE L'EMPEREUR', 'GOD SAVE THE QUEEN'. Under the lip a scene of 'THE SAILOR'S FAREWELL/Far from Home across the Sea/To Foreign climes I go/While far away, O think on me/And I'll remember you.'
