Full hull model, royal barge, starboard broadside

Full hull model of a royal barge (circa 1900), built at a scale of 1:16. It features a royal crest on the port and starboard bows and stern decking. As with royal vessels of this period, it is finished in the typical royal blue colour with the rubbing strake highlighted in gold. A removable washstrake is fitted to the bow providing protection against spray, whilst the seating and deck in the stern have gratings to stop the build up of water on the flat surfaces. The barge can be rowed by eight oarsmen and is complete with metal rollocks on the gunwale, foot stretchers internally and is steered by a rudder fitted with a yoke and lanyards.
