Greenwich, looking towards London
An atmospheric wash study, from the Observatory, showing the heavily industrialized river to the west of the Isle of Dogs. The Queen's House and Royal Naval College are on the right and in the left lower corner is the tower of St Mary's Church (by George Basevi, 1829), demolished in 1936, where the King William IV statue now stands. Exhibition: Special Exhibition Gallery, Oct 1974.
