Hilt of dirk, curved blade

Dirk thought to have belonged to William Grimaldi (1786-1835). The hilt of the dirk consists of gilt quillons with inversed ends. The hilt is decorated in the space between the quillon and the side guard. The dirk has a round gilt pommel. The ivory grip is decorated with spiral grooves in groups of three. The dirk has a prominent tang button. The very curved steel blade is double edged till 101mm from the point, has no groove, and has a flat back. The black leather scabbard has a gilt locket and chape; the locket has a ring and frog button.
