HMS 'Barfleur' (1943); Warship; Destroyer

Scale: 1:192. A waterline model of the battle-class (1st group) destroyer Barfleur (1943). Made entirely in wood with metal and organic material fittings and painted in realistic colours. The vessel is depicted moored to a buoy set in a realistically modelled and painted calm sea along with the aircraft carrier HMS 'Illustrious' (SLR1544) and assorted small craft. Fittings include a wave deflector; two gun turrets forward, each with a pair of guns, the rearmost one being mounted at the forward part of the superstructure; anti-aircraft guns mounted either side of the bridge; communications mast; several boats of various types including a double-ended boat stowed on davits on the starboard side; and one funnel. On port and starboard amidships and stern ‘D80’.
