HMS 'Cyclops' (1871)

Scale: 1:48. A half block model of the port side of the coast defence monitor HMS 'Cyclops' (1871), made entirely in wood and painted dark brown below the waterline, a narrow white stripe above and black above the waterline. Hull details include a ram bow, two port side bilge keels parallel with one another, rudder (currently missing) and port side propeller shaft casing. Other fittings include single row of portholes running along the bulwarks; superstructure placed amidships with cavetto profile and entry port; railings along the forecastle and aft decks; two large-diameter gun turrets placed fore and aft the superstructure; and single funnel (currently missing). The model is displayed on a backboard painted off-white with a mahogany-stained frame, the right-hand edge of which is currently missing. Inscribed on plaques are
