Nelson's weather log, Pages 2-3
This is Nelson's private weather log kept during the early stages of the Mediterranean campaign and said to have been pinned up in his cabin during the voyage. The inner leaves are ruled in a standard fashion but the details are completed in Nelson's hand. As is usual, the log records the date, several barometer readings per day, with times for each, and brief notes on the weather. These are generally confined to the strength and direction of the wind. It would appear that the weather during this period was very variable, with winds up to gale force, but also sometimes 'good'.
