OWS Weather Observer ex-HMS 'Maguerite' (1940); Weather ship
Scale: 1:96. A full hull model of OWS Weather Observer ex HMS 'Maguerite' (1940), a weather ship. The model is carved in wood, with wood, metal and fabric fittings, and painted in realistic colours. The hull is painted brick red below the waterline with black upperworks, and all the superstructure, deck fittings and equipment are painted bright yellow. The main deck and other deck area are painted grey and the greater section of the foredeck is bare wood and scored to simulate planking. The model has a single funnel, painted yellow with a black top and is surrounded by four ventilators. Forward of the funnel is a raised observation post with a radar dish and a radio mast. There are two boats on davits aft of the funnel, and aft of these is a second mast. A blue ensign flies at the stern.
