'Princess May' (1893)

Scale: Unknown. A half block model of the starboard side of the paddle steamer 'Princess May' (1893), mad entirely in wood and painted and polished. The hull is polished wood below the waterline and painted black above. The lower part of the paddle box is painted black, off-white above and with yellow outlining. Features include a stump foremast, painted off-white; three separate parts to the superstructure, all painted off-white with painted details; upper deck with superstructure, possibly the bridge or pilot house, ventilator, and single inclined funnel painted pale yellow; and rudder. The model is displayed on a rectangular wooden backboard with bevelled edges. On decorative plaques attached to the top left-hand corner, top right-hand corner and bottom centre of backboard
