Raven' (1875)

Scale: 1:60. A model of the cargo vessel 'Raven' (1875) made in wood, painted in realistic colours, with metal and organic fittings. The hull is painted orange below the waterline with a narrow white stripe above, black above the waterline, and has white gunwales. The deck is unpainted wood and scored to resemble planking. The bowsprit, foremast, mainmast, yards, and gaff boom are all unpainted wood. The foremast is fitted with five yards with black metal braces. Deck fittings include a windlass, two anchors, catheads, three cargo hatches of varying sizes, two white painted deck houses both with chimneys, and two boats. Inscribed on the port and starboard trailboards is 'Raven'; on the stern, 'Raven Rye'; and on the plaque 'Raven 213 tons. Built by Keep Prince Edward Island 1875'. The model is mounted on two short cylindrical pillar supports and is displayed in its original oak framed display case.
