Rear-Admiral Sir Eliab Harvey (1758-1830)
Royal Navy officer best known for commanding HMS 'Temeraire' at the Battle of Trafalgar, 1805, when he focred the surrender of two French ships of the line, 'Redoubtable' and 'Fougueux'. Harvey received the thanks of Parliament and of Lord Collingwood, a gold medal, a sword of honour from the Patriotic Fund, and was promoted Rear-Admiral. He was later promoted to Vice-Admiral in 1815 and Admiral in 1819.
