Seascape from the 'Umberleigh'
A sketch of a three-masted sailing ship from the deck of the 'Umberleigh'. The ship is shown in the distance towards the horizon, broadside to port, moving through a sea with a moderate swell. The green-grey tones of the sea indicate the ship is sailing in cold waters. The sky is shown as a mass of cloud tinged pink, with a small piece of sky visible towards the top of the painting. Everett sailed in the steamer, 'Umberleigh', from Barry, Wales to Vancouver in December 1933 and returned in March 1934.
