Sennen Cove, Cornwall
A lively sketch showing the effects of waves breaking over the shore on the Cornish coast. Everett has applied thick impasto paint to show the white crests of the waves. The sea is depicted a deep green and contrasts with the sky which is ranged in horizontal stripes from pink, through orange to yellow and mauve. The artist was concerned to create a sequential series of these paintings to capture the effect of waves breaking.
