Sphere and stand
Terrestrial table globe. It forms a pair with the celestial globe, Delamarche GLB0117. Geographical details on the sphere show the 'Antipodes de Paris'. Tasmania is represented as an island and labelled 'Terre de Diemen'. Vespucci's most southern point is indicated and labelled. In the north polar region the hibernation of the Dutch at Novaya Zemlya is recorded with an inscription. The death of Cook is recorded and the tracks of Cook and Fourneau are shown with dates. A total of four oceans are named.
