Cast silver taperstick modelled as a sailor in contemporary seaman's costume of 1761. The sailor wears the typical wide trousers, a long unbuttoned jacket with clearly modelled back flaps, a frilled shirt, neckerchief, tricorn hat and buckled shoes. The right arm is raised and supports a leaf decorated candle socket. The figure stands on a rocaille and floral domed base.
