The Prince of Wales and Shah of Persia steaming up the Pool
The Prince of Wales and the Shah of Persia steaming up the Pool in a paddle steamer with an accompaniment of vessels decked out in bunting. The shah toured England in August 1902 and his visit was recorded in the 'Illustrated London News'. His busy itinerary included a meeting with the king and queen on board the Royal Yacht 'Victoria and Albert' at Portsmouth, a review of the Royal Artillery at Woolwich and a firework display at Crystal Palace in south east London.
