Drawing part of a series depicting the Coronation of James II, 23 April [OS]/3 May 1685 showing a crowd of boats before Whitehall.
A crowded scene of barges, yachts, and boats off Westminster as the King leaves in his barge, shown starboard broadside on the right with the royal standard in the bow. In the centre, a small yacht port bow view. In the left foreground, a barge with a large canopy aft being pulled away from the shore. In the left distance is a tower of Westminster Abbey.
