The ship was built in London in 1839 by Green's for their own line, originally with auxiliary paddles. Here she appears to be in the English Channel, possibly off the Isle of Wight. She flies the Green Blackwall line house flag at the main and her code number at the mizzen. Her gangway is open ready to take on board a pilot, approaching in the cutter on the right.
