Warship; 74 guns

Scale: Unknown. A model of a French warship made in plaster with wood, metal, paper, and cotton fittings which has been realistically painted. The model depicts the vessel at 13.40 on 21 October 1805 at the height of the Battle of Trafalgar and shows the damage to the ship sustained in the action. The ship is three masted and ship rigged on all three masts. All the sails show shot damage. Part of the jib boom is missing and its rigging is damaged. Dark grey smoke is shown billowing from the deck in two places. The remains of a French Tricolors is flying from the peak of the gaff. The hull is painted black with white stripes along the gun decks, white on the deck, and black on the deck fittings.
