Warship; Cruiser, Guided missile
Scale: Unknown. A model of a guided missile cruiser (about 1957) made in wood, painted in realistic colours, with metal and possibly plastic fittings. The hull is painted black at the waterline and the upper hull, superstructure, and all fittings and equipment,a with the exception of the upper portions of the two communications masts, are painted a uniform light grey. Deck fittings include ensign staffs at the bow and stern, a wave deflector, two gun turrets forward, each with a pair of guns, a main superstructure with bridge, two communication masts with white and black painted tops, two funnels, four small pairs of guns in circular turrets, nine ship's boats of varying sizes, two of which are stowed on davits, a launching crane, and an unspecified item of ordnance at the aft end of the deck. The model is mounted on a realistically painted sea baseboard and displayed in a case with a perspex long side and top. On Dymo label applied to baseboard: 'Guided missile cruiser circa 1957'.
